Swedish Women’s national team player Lina Hurtig joins the English top club Arsenal on a 3-year deal and will leave Juventus FC after several successful seasons in Italy. She first joined the Italian club in 2020 and has won both Serie A, the Italian Super Cup and Coppa Italia titles with the club. She extended her contract with Juventus in March this year and will now be historical as the first real transfer where a player is bought out from an Italian club to another European top club.
– I’m happy to sign with Arsenal and to win big things with this club. I can’t wait to get started, says Lina Hurtig.
– Linas move from Juventus to Arsenal is a super transfer between two European top teams, a historical deal in women’s professional football since the Italian league became professional only one month ago. Lina leaves Italy with gold medals from all national competitions, winning everything there is to win and with great memories and experiences from both club, team and league. Now a new chapter begins, a new team in a new league but with the same ambitions: to Win it all and to give everything to reach full potential! Besides Linas well known strengths in attack, her speed, physics and view of the game, Lina will bring in tactical smartness and strong defense to an already star packed Arsenal, says Lisa Ek, Client Manager at CMG.
We can’t wait to see Hurtig in Arsenal and WSL. We wish you good luck, keep on being brave!
