– It feels great to get the chance to play for one of the top clubs in Europe, says the defender.
Earlier this year, the 23-year-old, made her debut for the national team when Sweden met Malta in a friendly. Now, her career takes another tremendous step, with Amanda Nildén deciding to join the Italien Champions from Eskilstuna United. There she will also be teammates with the Swedish national team duo Linda Sembrant and Lina Hurtig.
– It feels invigorating for many reasons, but for example, I have never played Champions League and now I get that opportunity. I can only hope for a significant role in the team and am ready to take on the challenge of being a member of one of the most iconic clubs in the World. I feel that I have been preparing and working for this moment for a long time. I have no doubt that this is going to be a lot of fun,’ she says.
Instead of a restart in Damallsvenskan, a tour with Juventus is now waiting, and the team will play against the Champions League winner Barcelona in Spain next week. On Sunday, Nildén will prepare for her journey south where she will try to learn a little Italian and get comfortable in her new surroundings.
Nildén has already tried the professional life abroad when she represented Brighton for one season.
– When it comes to moving to Italy, everything has gone so fast. I have not really had time to ‘take it all in’ yet, I have mostly fixed everything practical that needed to be done. But it feels exciting and I really look forward to getting the season started, she says.
CMG follows Nildén’s excitement.
– Amanda to Juventus, one of the biggest and most ambitious clubs in Europe, is the perfect challenge for her right now. She has had a very promising first half of the season (with Eskilstuna) and combine that with her unique passing game, ability to decided the pace of a game, plus winning mentality; well she is a great addition for them.We have no doubt that she has just entered an environment where the sky is the limit and the bar has been set for international success, says Lisa Ek, Client Manager at CMG.
